Vintage Compact Lipstick Tango Cloissone Enamel Finberg F.M. Co. Original Box

This compact was made by F.M. Company.
There are 2 stickers inside the box, one stating Genuine Cloisonne Hand Painted F. M. Co and the other Rappe's Watsonville, CA, Jewelry.
The compact has enamel stripes in mint green and pale yellow. Roses and flowers adorn the center and side panels (roses were used on many of the Finberg compacts). The back of the compact and matching six-sided lipstick are the same colors in solid.
The inside is done in gold wash and has a double-sided mirror in the center separating a rotating powder sifter on one side and rouge on the other. Two used puffs are included, the one on the rouge side less used therefore a brighter color. It comes with the original presentation box in fuchsia pink. There is a slight gap on the right hand side when closed.
The compact measures 2 1/4 inches by 2 1/8 inches at its widest and 3/8 inches high. The lipstick is almost 1 7/8 inches long. It weighs 95 grams.
The enamel is in excellent condition. There is some fading of the gold tone around the edges as expected of a 90 year old compact.

The Finberg Manufacturing Company (also a jewelry company) produced compacts in the 1920's and 1930's. It was known for its high quality and expensive price. They ceased producing compacts after the 1930's. Women were looking for lighter cheaper vanity items to coordinate with their fashions. They no longer wanted the heavy enamel compacts
